Most Bi1 modules are designed for flat screen TV and is used when you want to have full control of a television of a different brand than Bang & Olufsen and wish to continue using its Beo4 to Bang & Olufsen remote control.

Maybe you have a Bang & Olufsen audiomaster, which already can be remoted with a Beo4, and you do not wish for several remote controls on the table.
Bi1 for e.g. Apple TV can in fact be used for all kind of Apple products where you can use the normal Apple remote control
